What we focus on

Rewards-based training: good training technique and communication skills, plus the “how” and “why”, so you can confidently train new behaviours on your own.

Common puppy challenges: chewing, handling sensitivity, early resource guarding, rowdy play and emotional regulation.

Safe, structured socialisation: positive associations with people, dogs, sounds, textures, objects and environments during this critical developmental window.

Suitable for

Puppies between 14 weeks and 7 months at the start of the course

Puppies certified healthy by your vet, with a minimum of their 2nd vaccination according to AVSAB socialisation guidelines (canine core vaccines), dewormed and deticked. This is mandatory for everyone’s safety

Puppies without moderate to severe behaviour issues (not aggressive or overly fearful)

Puppy parents who can attend once a week for all course dates. Replacement sessions depend on availability

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Before working with Shafik for our little leash-reactive gangster, we tried everything we could think of to help with his reactivity, but had little progress.

From the very first session, Qiai and Shafik gave us clarity on how to understand Scooby and the skills we needed to help him. Shafik also showed us that many of the things we thought were impossible with Scooby were actually achievable - it just takes time, patience, consistency, and the right guidance.

After 5 sessions, we’ve already seen a difference. Scooby is now able to disengage from his triggers much more quickly and can look at other dogs without immediately lunging or barking (at a distance for now, but we’re confident that will continue to improve with time).

There were times when Scooby seemed to become more reactive (progress is never linear), and we felt discouraged. But whenever that happened, Shafik was always there to offer additional advice and practical tips, even between sessions. When we applied the suggestions, Scooby got back on track and continued making progress. Having that level of support and reassurance throughout the journey has been invaluable.

Beyond his knowledge and training skills, Shafik has been incredibly patient with all our questions, is always punctual, and provides detailed, practical notes after every session so we know exactly what to continue working on at home. He even goes the extra mile by coordinating with other dog owners so their dogs can act as training decoys for Scoobs, something we especially appreciate since we’re total social recluses. Most importantly, Scooby absolutely loves training with Shafik. Sometimes we think that he likes Shafik more than us 🤣

Engaging Shafik has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for Scooby. We’re so grateful for all the support and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated, and genuinely caring trainer!

He would lunge, growl or bark at almost every dog he met on walks. Imagine our stress! Qiai was patient and professional in guiding us through each session, with step by step follow up notes and suggestions on what we could work on in between the sessions. She equipped us with knowledge and techniques to help with his anxiety and reactivity towards other dogs when out on walks. Demonstrated how it’s done, what to look out for, including  the small details.
It was reassuring and encouraging to have her alongside us working through the reactivity issues - gave us and nori the confidence to go for walks, even in crowded evening hour. Over the course of the sessions, Katie has improved significantly. She now walks much better, is able to recover quickly even in more stimulating situations (like meeting people she likes), and can notice other dogs and move away calmly without reacting.

Qiai’s instructions were clear and practical, and the methods she used were effective and easy to follow. I also really appreciated the support in between sessions, which made a big difference in staying consistent.

We started with the Ruff Rovers program, and it has been incredible to see Rafa’s confidence grow with each outing. We are so grateful to Qiai and Webster for their patience and expertise in helping Rafa learn to engage with the outdoors and feel more at ease in the world around him — since he can be quite a nervous handful especially when he sees other dogs.

These days, whenever Rafa sees Qiai’s van, he knows he’s in for a great time and happily greets her. Seeing him so excited and confident brings us indescribable joy.

In addition to Ruff Rovers, Rafa has also been attending ATC for the past four months. We really appreciate their thoughtfully curated program, which includes fitness, cooperative care, calmness exercises — and most importantly, NAP TIME! Starting fitness training at a young age is important to us, and we’ve enjoyed learning exercises that help build Rafa’s strength and confidence.

We truly value the care and attention given to each dog, and we feel completely at ease knowing the Petcoach team is always looking out for Rafa.
